Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 Patch 3.1 Fixes Heavy Stutters on Some CPUs

Saber Interactive has released Patch 3.1 for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2. According to the team, this update, among other things, fixes heavy stutters that could occur on some CPUs. So, let’s take a closer look at what are the other changes.

Update 3.1 fixes several crashes, as well as a launch issue on Linux and Steam Deck. Moreover, it fixes an issue with dynamic resolution and ultrawide screens. It also solves an issue with upscalers using wrong resolution parameters.

Sadly, the devs did not go into more detail about the CPUs that will now have fewer stutters. Still, it’s at least good to know that they’ve done something in order to somehow improve it.

As I wrote in my PC Performance Analysis, Space Marine 2 does have some traversal stutters. Thankfully, though, those stutters did not happen frequently. At least on our AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D CPU.

In short, this is a small hotfix. So, don’t expect any balance tweaks or changes. My guess is that those with older CPUs will be the ones that will benefit from this update.

Like always, Steam will download this update the next time you launch its client. Below you can also find its complete changelog.
