SEGA and Sports Interactive have announced that Football Manager 25 has been delayed until March 2025. As the devs noted, this additional time will be used to further polish the game, so that it meets their expectations and high standards.
Football Manager 25 will be using a brand new engine. So, my guess is that the devs have a hard time transitioning to it. This is a bit funny as for the past few months, the yearly releases did not require a lot of work. In gaming terms, they felt more like expansions or add-ons than new parts in the series.
As the devs noted:
“FM25 is the biggest technical and visual advancement in the series for a generation. We simply cannot compromise the delivery of this crucial juncture in Football Manager’s history by rushing to release it in November.”
FM25 will have a slicker, smarter UI, promising to deliver key info when you need it, empowering you to delve deeper to gain the edge on your rivals. New, volumetric player animations and enhanced graphical fidelity also aim to elevate the Matchday experience.
What’s interesting here is that SI has already shared the game’s PC requirements. Although the game has been delayed, I’m certain the PC specs will remain the same. So, let’s take a look at them.
For running FM25, PC gamers will at least need an Intel Core i3-530 or AMD FX-4100 with 4GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 or AMD Radeon R9 380 or Intel HD 530. With such a PC, you’ll be able to run the game at 1080p/Low settings.
For gaming at 1080p with High settings, you’ll need an Intel Core i5-9600 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 with 12GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT.
