Modder ‘camaxide’ has been working on a direct sequel mod for Doom 2 for the past 11 years, and has just released to the public. This mod, called Doom III, takes place right after the events of Doom 2. So, let’s take a closer look at it.
The Doom 3 Mod features two new chapters of new levels with multiple playable characters. For instance, you can play as Doom Guy, Doom Gal, or one of the other selectable characters. These chapters are playable in both solo and co-op modes.
Alongside the well-known Doom monsters, there are also many additional monsters. You can also expect to find new items, weapons and power-ups to help you fight back the demons.
In total, this mod offers 20+ hours of gameplay, with extra modes, collectibles, achievements and unlocks. It also has 36 new music tracks.
Now the reason this mod is called Doom III is because it’s a sequel to Doom II. This has nothing in common with id Software’s Doom 3 game, which came out in 2004 and was a reboot.
You can download this Doom 3 Mod from this link. At the end of the article, you can also find a trailer for it. So, make sure to watch it.
If you are looking for other cool mods for Doom, I suggest getting Voxel Doom. Then we have Aliens Eradication TC which is a must-have mod for all our Aliens fans. Brutal Doom: Black Edition is a mod that attempts to bring Doom 3’s art style to the game. And how can we forget Brutal Doom? There’s also a cool Doom 64-inspired episode mod that you can download. There is also Bloom which is a crossover between Blood and Doom. Finally, if you own an RTX GPU, you should try Doom 2 Ray-Traced. Doom 2 Ray-Traced adds full path tracing effects to the game. All of them are cool, so be sure to give them a go.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
