Now here is something really cool. YouTube’s ‘Proxy Gate Tactician’ has shared a video, showcasing Baldur’s Gate 3 in first-person mode. This is a pretty cool concept that can give you an idea of what this RPG would look like with a Skyrim-like viewpoint.
As you will, the game’s combat and exploration mechanics work just fine in first-person mode. In fact, this video makes me want to try the game in FP. And the cool thing here is that the YouTuber has provided a way to get the game working in first-person.
Now contrary to most other mods, this one needs a lot of work. For instance, you’ll have to use various mods to get the first-person experience you see in the video. For instance, there is a mod to make the game work with the WASD keys, and another mod to stop the camera from moving while in combat.
You can find all the mods you’ll need in the video description. If you are not interested in going through all this trouble, you can simply watch the video. Now if someone could create a full playthrough in first-person mode.
For some reason, Baldur’s Gate 3 in first-person reminded me of the first Dragon Age game. I don’t know why, but I got some DA vibes from it, especially at 6:00 when you see the dragon. So yeah, this is a really cool way to replay BG3.
Speaking of BG3, I also recommend downloading this HD Texture Pack for it. This pack will greatly enhance a lot of the game’s textures. Created by WestAard, this pack uses AI tools to upscale the original textures. As such, the modded textures retain the art style of the original ones.
Another cool mod you can download is the real-time combat mod. As its title suggests, it turns this turn-based RPG into an action RPG. In its current state, the Brawl – Real Time Combat Mod is only meant to be used with standalone game modes, like Trials of Tav. However, its creator is working on adding it to the SP campaign.
Baldur’s Gate 3 came out in 2023 and took the industry by surprise. Larian has done a terrific job with it. So now, I’m curious to see what the studio’s next game will be. From what we know, it won’t be Baldur’s Gate 4. Still, let’s hope that it will be up to the standards that BG3 set.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
