Black Mesa: Blue Shift Remake Chapter 5 to be released on November 17th

HECU Collective has announced that the fifth chapter for their remake of Half-Life Blue Shift in Black Mesa will be released on November 17th. To celebrate this announcement, the team has shared a new teaser trailer which you can find below.

In Black Mesa: Blue Shift, players will relive the Black Mesa Incident as Gordon Freeman’s best friend, Barney Calhoun. This fan remake currently has the first four chapters of Blue Shift. These chapters are Living Quarters Outbound, Insecurity, Duty Calls and Captive Freight.

For those unaware, Blue Shift was an expansion of Half-Life that came out in 2001. Developed by Gearbox, this expansion allowed you to experience the events of Half-Life from the perspective of Barney Calhoun.

If you haven’t played Blue Shift, I highly recommend trying it. Well, that is when Chapter 5 becomes available. After all, you won’t have to wait for long.

Speaking of Half-Life fan projects, the Half-Life 3 fan game, Project Borealis, is back from the dead. The team plans to release its Prologue later this year. Project Borealis will be using Unreal Engine 5. And, well, I can’t wait to get my hands on it.

Another cool HL project is Half-Life Alyx NoVR. As its title suggests, this will allow you to play Half-Life: Alyx without a VR device. Then we have Half Life 2 RTX. Developed by a team of modders, this project aims to bring Full Ray Tracing/Path Tracing effects to HL2. Finally, we have the Black Mesa: Military Mod. This mod lets you experience the events of Half-Life from the perspective of a Hazardous Environments Combat Unit Marine. All of these mods are cool, so make sure to check them out.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
