Batman fans, here is something for you today. Modder ‘GPUnity’ has released a new cool graphics mod for Batman: Arkham Origins. This mod will make this Arkham game look better than before. So, let’s take a closer look at it.
The mod will reduce shadow banding and it will improve the quality of all shadows. It will also improve Batman’s cape, and it will snow deformation height. Not only that, but it adds some new FOV settings. As such, you will be able to adjust your FOV in order to get a more comfortable experience.
Sadly, though, this mod does not make any changes to the game’s textures. This is a bit disappointing as GPUnity’s previous mods have improved the textures of the other Batman: Arkham games. And, in my opinion, Origins would benefit from higher-quality textures.
Anyway, you can download the mod from this link. And the end of the article, you can also find a trailer for it. This trailer features some before/after comparison shots. As such, they will give you a pretty good idea of what you can expect from it.
GPUnity has also created mods for almost all the other Batman: Arkham games. For example, last month, we talked about the final version of his mod for Batman: Arkham Asylum, which added 4K textures to the game. There’s a similar mod for Batman: Arkham City called Arkham City Redux. That mod adds, among other things, support for DirectX 11. You can also download the Ascension Mod for Arkham City. This mod changes the upgrade system, tweaks combat and enemy AI, and adds new difficulty options.
So, if you’re planning to replay these old Batman: Arkham games, I suggest doing so with these mods. And as for Batman: Arkham Knight, GPUnity is working on an Insane Difficulty Mod for it. That mod will NOT include any 4K Textures for it. That’s a bummer. Nevertheless, Arkham Knight still looks great on PC, even with its vanilla textures. I recently played it and was impressed by it. And, contrary to what everyone has been saying, I was not really annoyed by the Batmobile sections.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
