STALKER 2 fans, here is another must-have mod for you. Modder ‘SomberX’ has released this mod that allows all mutants to drop an assortment of new unique items, much like previous STALKER games.
This will greatly enhance your gaming experience. Now, after fighting a mutant, you will be able to loot it and sell its parts to merchants. This will provide another source of income. In other words, it’s now worth fighting the mutants.
I seriously can’t believe this simple feature wasn’t in the game. I mean, what’s the point of having the mutants if you can’t loot them? Okay okay, they provide an extra danger to the zone. I get it. However, it was a dumb decision to remove the looting system from them. Especially since this feature was present in the previous STALKER games.
GSC GameWorld has not commented on whether or not it will bring this looting system to the game via a new update. Right now, the devs are doing their best to fix all of the game’s major quest bugs and blockers. Then, they might take a look at fixing A-Life 2.0.
Anyway, you can go ahead and download the mod from this link. To install it, you’ll simply have to place the .pak file into the “S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Heart of Chornobyl\Stalker2\Content\Paks\~mods” folder. As the modder noted, the mod works with the game’s latest version, and it’s compatible with a variety of mods.
Speaking of STALKER 2, I also suggest taking a look at these mods for it. Let’s start with the Draw Distance Mod. This mod will reduce the pop-ins of trees and vegetation. However, it comes with a pretty big performance hit. On my NVIDIA RTX 4090, I got a 10-20FPS performance hit. So, use it only if you have a high-end GPU.
Then we have this mod that attempts to restore most of the online A-Life functionality. It’s not perfect, but it’s better than the vanilla version. This is a must until GSC GameWorld fixes A-Life 2.0. Let’s also not forget this mod that adds a Parkour-like climbing system to the game. This is another must-have mod for all STALKER 2 players.
Finally, you can download a mod that will remove the inventory carry/weight limit. I’m not a fan of this last mod but hey, some of you may like it. Oh, and there is a mod that enables real-time dynamic flashlight shadows.
Stay tuned for more!
