Capcom has just released a new trailer for a sequel to one of its most underappreciated games, Okami. Yes, an Okami sequel is officially in development. Or at least that’s what Capcom claims. Which made me wonder a simple question. Where the hell is PRAGMATA?
Capcom officially announced PRAGMATA in 2020. And, the last time we heard anything about it was in June 2023 when we got an in-engine trailer for it. And then silence.
So, Capcom right now is working on Monster Hunter Wilds, PRAGMATA, the sequel to Okami, the next Resident Evil games, and Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Monster Hunter Wilds will come out in early 2025, whereas Onimusha: Way of the Sword targets a 2026 release date. As for Okami and PRAGMATA… well… we’re looking at a 2027 or 2028 release date at best.
My biggest fear here is that PRAGMATA may meet the same fate as Deep Down. Deep Down was a promising title, featuring absolutely insane graphics. However, Capcom was unable to make a game out of it. Deep Down was in development hell and from the looks of it, PRAGMATA also has major development issues. Or at least that’s the vibes I get due to its absence.
Anyway, enjoy the trailer for the new Okami game and stay tuned for more!
