EXODUS feature-2

EXODUS is a new Mass Effect game from ex-Bioware devs

As promised, Archetype Entertainment released the first gameplay trailer for EXODUS. And, as you will see, this looks and feels like a new Mass Effect game. So, make sure to watch the trailer if you are a fan of ME.

EXODUS is the debut game from RPG creator James Ohlen’s new studio. According to the devs, this will be a next-generation, story-driven RPG that marries cinematic storytelling with deep emotional impact featuring broad player agency and modern AAA gameplay. The story is fueled by the consequences of player choices due to the impact of Time Dilation.

In EXODUS, humanity has escaped a dying Earth and found a new home in a dangerous galaxy. You play as The Traveler, humanity’s last hope. Your mission is to steal alien weapons and technology from the Celestials, the most powerful beings in the universe and humanity’s biggest enemy. But there’s a catch – Time Dilation.

When Travelers go on their journey in EXODUS, they age much slower because of Time Dilation. Meanwhile, the people they leave behind—like friends, family, and companions—age much faster. When Travelers return home, they might find that years or even decades have passed. The friends they left behind could have lived full lives, grown old, or even passed away while they were gone.

Time Dilation sounds like a really cool idea. It could create a lot of interesting possibilities in the game. But I’m curious to see if the developers can make it work. Will it actually impact the game in big ways, or will it just be a fancy but pointless idea? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

EXODUS will be a third-person action RPG. In this game, players will form a team, similar to what they did in Mass Effect. And, seriously, just watch the trailer.

Everything feels like Mass Effect. From the camera to the cut-scenes, this is exactly what you’d hope for a new Mass Effect game. My only gripe is with the game’s graphics as they do not look THAT great. Still, if the gameplay and story are worth it, I won’t really mind these visuals.

For those wondering, there is still no ETA on when EXODUS will come out. Naturally, though, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.

Enjoy!
