YouTube’s ‘That’s Gaming’ has shared a video, showcasing 15 minutes of new gameplay footage from Crimson Desert. This video shows off a fight with Staglord and packs a few minutes of pure world exploration.
Crimson Desert will be using Pearl Abyss’ own engine, the BlackSpace Engine. And overall, the game looks great. From what I can see, there is also no downgrade. To its credit, Pearl Abyss was able to match the quality of its early demos. So, kudos to the devs for not dropping the ball.
I know some will scream “downgrade” but if you pay some extra attention, you’ll see that the game looks similar to its first gameplay trailer. It’s just that by today’s standards, Crimson Desert is not as hot as it was back in 2020. But hey, at least it runs better than its 2020 version.
Crimson Desert started as an open-world MMORPG. During development, though, Pearl Abyss pivoted and made it a single-player game. And, to be honest, I’m glad it’s no longer an MMORPG.
The biggest feature of Crimson Desert is its combat system. From what I can see, the game is more action-oriented and more forgiving than Dark Souls/Elden Ring. So, this should be good news to those who want something more than a Dark Souls clone.
I personally like everything I see here. And, I’m certain this will be a big hit when it comes out. So, I can’t wait to get my hands on it.
Pearl Abyss will release Crimson Desert in late 2025. You can also find its preliminary PC system requirements here.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
