Frogwares has just announced an official remaster of the first The Sinking City game. The remaster will be using Unreal Engine 5, and you can find below its first comparison screenshots (as well as its first tech details).
The Sinking City Remastered will have enhanced locations with additional levels of detail and objects. Frogwares has relit the entire game in UE5, meaning that we’ll get better lighting across every area. Moreover, the game will have 4K textures for all surfaces.
Frogwares has also implemented a number of QoL improvements. Not only that, but the game will support DLSS, FSR and TSR upscaling.
Now what’s cool here is that this remaster will be available for free to all owners of The Sinking City. Yep, contrary to what other devs have been doing these past couple of years, Frogwares will offer this remaster for free to everyone.
This is a clever way to hype The Sinking City 2, which is currently in development. Plus, this remaster will allow the devs to get used with the new advanced tools of UE5. So, this is a win-win for both the devs and gamers.
There is currently no ETA for when the remaster will come out. Naturally, though, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
Enjoy the screenshots and stay tuned for more!
