Earlier today, EA released an indie bundle on Steam that features Deathspank, Gatling Gears, Warp, Shank 1 and Shank 2. It was a surprise seeing EA releasing an indie bundle what came afterwards caught us off guard. Markus ‘Notch’ Persson was really annoyed by EA’s actions and said some harsh words against them. Notch called EA ‘a bunch of cynical bastards‘ and said that they are ruining everything. Wow.
As Notch tweeted:
“EA releases an “indie bundle”? That’s not how that works, EA. Stop attempting to ruin everything, you bunch of cynical bastards.”
Not only that, but Notch went ahead – later on – and said that EA is methodically destroying gaming with their actions.
“Indies are saving gaming. EA is methodically destroying it.”
Notch has also revealed that he does not consider Mojang to be an indie studio anymore. According to Notch ‘Vlambeer is indie. Polytron is indie. Stephen, Ed, Terry, Derek, Tommy and Chris are indie.‘

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
