Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 – Incoming PC news, Black Ops 2 PC will run better than its predecessor

We are pretty sure that a lot of PC gamers want to know some more PC specific details about Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Will it support dedicated servers and if it does, will those dedicated servers be for ranked matches? Well, although we don’t know the answer to that question, we can tell you that more, specific PC news will be revealed in the following days that will address most of your concerns.
That was revealed by Treyarch’s director of technology, Cesar Stastny. When a fan asked about any specific news for the PC version of Black Ops 2, Stastny said that they can’t share any news right now but details are coming soon.
“Details are coming. We just have to wait until PR says it is our turn.”
In addition, Stastny revealed that performance is top priority for Treyarch (when it comes to the PC version of Black Ops 2). We are pretty sure that most of you remember those awful performance issues that were present in the PC version of the first Black Ops. Even though Treyarch used the same engine that was used in the previous versions of Call of Duty, it was heavily CPU-bound and a lot of PC gamers faced performance problems. That was weird, given the fact that Modern Warfare ran amazingly fast to a lot of different PC configurations.
As Stastny said when he was asked about the game’s performance:
“Not getting into details yet, but I can tell you that performance is top priority.”
In other news, the PC version of Black Ops 2 will take advantage of DirectX11. Although Treyarch has not revealed the supported DX11 features, we can assume that this API will be used for faster performance (due to its better rendering structure) and nothing more.
Stay tuned for more!
