Better late than never I guess. Piranha Bytes has released a demo for the PC version of Risen 2: Dark Waters that can be downloaded from Steam. Risen 2 is an interesting action RPG, although we expected more from Piranha Bytes. Oh, and the game has been dumbed down – compared to the first Risen. And the combat system is not as deep or polished as we’d hoped to. In other words, it’s not up to Piranha Bytes’ standards and you can try it for yourselves to see whether we are right or not.
The demo allows players to experience the beginning of the game – the world is in turmoil, the Titans have devastated everything in their path with unstoppable force. Only the city of Caldera, where the headquarters of the Inquisition are located, offers a place of refuge for the people.

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
