So you thought that Ubisoft has dropped their always-online DRM? Well, guess again. When a fan asked at Driver’s Twitter Account whether Driver: San Francisco would feature an offline mode – like Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Mathieu Willem said that this would not be the case and that the game would require a permanent internet connection.
Mathieu Willem, community developer for Ubisoft on the Driver and Rabbids wrote:
“PC version requires permanent internet connection.”
Now we really wonder why Ubisoft didn’t stick with their offline modes for their DRM. And we are really tired with this whole thing. Ubisoft should decide what they’ll use in their games Ubisoft and stick with their decision.

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
