Nvidia has released a new video, showcasing the PhysX effects that are present in the F2P action mech title, Hawken. This video also demonstrates a soon-to-come PhysX feature in Hawken: APEX Turbulence. APEX Turbulence is a PhysX feature which uses velocity fields to simulate particle motion. Question now is whether Hawken takes advantage of PhysX 3.0 or not, and whether those PhysX effects will bring the game to its knees. Hawken is powered by Epic’s Unreal Engine 3 and those interested can sign-up (and download its client) from its official website. Enjoy!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. John has also written a higher degree thesis on the “The Evolution of PC graphics cards.”
