Project CARS fans, we’ve got some good and some bad news for you today. The good news: Slightly Mad Studios revealed that the game is currently available on Steam. The bad news: the build is available today for senior managers and will be on Friday for junior members. In short, those already playing it will be able to enjoy it via Steam. However, those who are not into the alpha build won’t be able to purchase or download it.
The fact that the game appeared on Steam may mean good things for all racing fans. After all, it’s almost a given that Slightly Mad Studios will release the game via Steam’s early access program, meaning that more and more players will be able to get their hands on it. Of course this has not been confirmed yet, however we can’t see why Slightly won’t take advantage of something like that.
Project CARS is currently planned for a 2014 release on PC, WiiU, X360 and PS3. Slightly Mad Studios may abandon the game’s DX9 API and focus on its DX11 version. This has not been confirmed yet, but there are talks about it.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
