Totem Arts has announced that its freeware MP remake of Command & Conquer: Renegade will be released this coming February (on February 26th to be more precise). Renegade X is described as a free multiplayer Tactical FPS game and its release date will coincide with the 12th birthday of C&C Renegade.
As Totem Arts’ ‘[NE]Fobby[GEN]’ wrote on the game’s forum:
“Players will be able to fight for two unique teams – the Global Defense Initiative (GDI), a UN international military force committed to world order and peacekeeping, and the Brotherhood of Nod, a messianic international terrorist network that aims to push humanity into the next stage of human evolution.”
Renegade X will come with 30+ weapons, 15 vehicles, the ability to call in nuclear strikes, Ion Cannons, and airstrikes, and much more.
The team plans on releasing patches, new maps, and new features throughout 2014. Players will be able to post their suggestions for the game and issues with the game, and the team will address all of them (or at least that’s what it claims).
Totem Arts has also released a new trailer for Renegade X that can be viewed below.
Enjoy!
