Pulsetense Games has informed us about its new first person survival-horror title called Solarix. Solarix is powered by the Unreal Engine and follows the story of an electrical engineer on an orbital research station, desperately fighting for his life after an infection wipes out his isolated community.
Here is what the studio had to say about its game:
“Our vision for the game is simple: horror that goes beyond jump-scares, into a deep feeling of unease and insecurity. Central to both story and gameplay are the monsters—human, yet totally inhuman—as well as the level design—humbling in scale and filled with detail—both of which are integral to the overall atmosphere of isolation and desperation.”
What we find interesting is that the story and design of Solarix are influenced by a wide variety of sci-fi/horror games & films such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, Alien, Half-Life and System Shock 2.
There is no ETA yet for Solarix, though it’s almost a given that its primary platform (and perhaps the only one) is the PC.
Enjoy!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
