FIFA 15’s PC demo is out in the wild and a lot of PC gamers criticized EA Sports for not properly supporting 16:10 monitors. In case you weren’t aware of, there are some annoying black bars when using a 16:10 monitor. Thankfully, there is a workaround for it.
Nvidia users will have to simply create a custom resolution. The key here is to keep intact the vertical resolution and the 16:9 aspect ratio value.
For example, say your monitor supports 1280×800 instead of 1280×720. In order to create bar-less resolution for games like FIFA 15, you’ll have to multiply 1.7777778 (16:9 aspect ratio) with your vertical resolution (800). This means that your new resolution will basically be 1422×800.
Once created, head over to FIFA 15’s config, select that new resolution, and enjoy the game.
Do note that you can use this new custom resolution on all games that have black bars.
AMD users will have to follow Guru3D’s bihariel guide in order to create such a custom resolution.
Have fun everyone!
