EIDOS Montreal’s marketting man, David Bedard, revealed some juicy new information about the upcoming DLC pack of Deus Ex: Human Revolution – The Missing Link. According to David, The Missing Link will be around 1.5GB in size and will last – more or less – 5 hours.
Players will have access to this DLC from the main page but it won’t be included in the main game’s narrative. This basically means that the DLC won’t interfere with the main game’s narration and no, there won’t be any extra option to reset your augmentations in the main game. That’s why we were disappointed with EIDOS Montreal’s decision to reset the augs in the DLC, as these changes won’t have any effect in the main game.
As David said:
“The Missing Link will not appear in the main game narrative, and your augmentation set in The Missing Link will not carry over to the main game after you’ve completed it. While gameplay-wise The Missing Link is not tied back into the main game, narratively you will find out things that will shed some much needed light on some of the… shadier sections of the Human Revolution world.”
Last but not least, Mary DeMarle, lead narrative designer on DX:HR was the lead writer on The Missing Link and the DLC is localized for all languages for which DX:HR is currently available.
The Missing Link is slated for release next month!
