The Steam Summer Sale 2016 has ended and according to SteamSpy it was way more successful than the previous one. SteamSpy has provided some numbers to back up those claims, and stated that this year’s Steam Summer Sale event has generated $236 million in revenue. For comparison purposes, last year’s Steam Summer Sale event generated $160M in revenue.
Moreover, during this year’s Steam Summer Sale, around 37 million games were sold. For comparison purposes, there were 33 million games sold during last year’s event. That’s 4 million more games.
It seems this Steam Summer Sale was way more successful than the previous one: $236M vs $160M in revenue, 37M games vs 33M sold.
