Koji Igarashi has announced that Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has been delayed to first half of 2018. According to a Kickstarter update, Igarashi decided to delay the game in order to ensure that it meets his quality standards.
As Igarashi claimed:
“The last thing I want to do is keep our backers waiting, but after receiving such incredible support, I feel responsible for delivering the best product I possibly can. Again, I offer my sincerest apologies.”
We are pretty sure that the reception of Mighty No.9 is also one of the reasons why this game has been delayed. After all, Mighty No.9 was meant to be the “new big thing from the man behind Mega Man” and ended up a mediocre platformer. And Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is the next big thing from the man behind Castlevania. See the similarities?
Anyway, it will be interesting to see whether Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will be able to top Castlevania.
