Futuremark is working on new DX12 and Vulkan 3DMark benchmarks

Futuremark has announced that it is currently working on two new 3DMark benchmarks. The first one will be a DX12 test, while the second one will be a Vulkan test, and it is reported that these two new tests will be added to 3DMark in early 2017.

According to TechPowerUp, the DX12 test will not be as demanding as Time Spy. Futuremark appears to be targeting notebook graphics and entry-mainstream graphics cards with this benchmark, so you should not expect it to stress your graphics cards as Time Spy does.

The second benchmark test will be taking advantage of the Vulkan API, and Futuremark plans to release this Vulkan-based benchmark for both Windows and Android platforms. Futuremark did not reveal whether this test will be as demanding as Time Spy or not.

Futuremark is also working on new VR benchmarks for PC and mobile platforms, and aims to release these VR benchmarks soon.
