Microsoft announced today that it intends to close Lionhead Studios, and that the development of Fable Legends has been ceased. Fable Legends was one of the first games that was announced with DX12 support and cross-platform play support between Xbox One and PC.
Now here is a nice surprise. AMD has released a new beta driver for its graphics cards that offers performance and quality optimization for both Star Wars: Battlefront’s Beta and Fable Legends’ DX12 Benchmark.
Our dear friends over at PCGamesHardware have published the first DX12 benchmarks for Fable Legends. Fable Legends is powered by Unreal Engine 4 and will be a F2P title, and these first benchmarks will give you a glimpse at the game’s performance at 1080p (as well as 2160p) with its bells and whistles enabled.
Lionhearted’s Social Media Coordinator revealed on Twitter that Fable Legends will not be available on Steam. As Lauran claimed, this PC free-to-play title will not be coming to Valve’s distribution service. And if this is any indication, then we can safely assume that neither Killer Instinct will appear on Steam.

During today’s Windows 10 event, Lionhead Studios and Microsoft announced that Fable Legends will be coming to the PC. Although we don’t know whether it will be exclusive to Windows 10, we do know that it will offer cross-play support between PC and Xbox One, and that it will be powered by DirectX12.
Environment Artists ‘Marci Nyíri‘ and ‘Wayne S.‘ have shared remakes of Fable and League of Legends in Unreal Engine 4, respectively. Nyiri has recreated Chapel of Skorm from Fable: The Lost Chapters in Epic’s engine. On the other hand, Wayne has made a realistic Summoner’s Rift from League of Legends.
Last week, we informed you about Microsoft’s plans to release the map making tools for Halo 5 on the PC. Well, get ready everyone as it appears that all future Halo and Gears of War games will be coming to the PC. Or at least that’s what Kotaku claimed.
