The embargo for the latest part in the Darksiders series, Darksiders Genesis, has just been lifted, and we can share with you some 4K screenshots from the PC version. Moreover, we can share our initial 4K PC performance impressions of it.
In order to capture these screenshots, we used an Intel i9 9900K with 16GB of DDR4 at 3600Mhz. Naturally, we’ve paired this machine with an NVIDIA RTX 2080Ti. We also used Windows 10 64-bit and the GeForce 441.41 driver.
The good news here is that Darksiders Genesis runs with more than 60fps in 4K and Ultra settings on the RTX2080Ti. For the most part, the game was running with 70fps. However, there were some rare occasions where our framerate dropped to 60fps.
Darksiders Genesis is an isometric action RPG that retains all the gameplay elements of the previous Darksiders games. And to be honest, this is a really interesting take on the Darksiders formula.
Our PC Performance Analysis will go live tomorrow, so stay tuned for more. Until then, enjoy the following screenshots!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. John has also written a higher degree thesis on the “The Evolution of PC graphics cards.”
