Yesterday, Square Enix released a performance patch for Forspoken on PC. As such, we’ve decided to re-benchmark the game and compare it with its launch version. And yes, this latest version of the game both looks and runs better than its initial launch version.
For these benchmarks, we used an Intel i9 9900K, 16GB of DDR4 at 3800Mhz, and NVIDIA’s RTX 4090. We also used Windows 10 64-bit, and the GeForce 531.26 driver.
For our comparisons, we used the game’s non-ray-traced Max Settings. We also used its built-in benchmark, which is representative of the in-game performance.
At both 1080p and 1440p, we saw a 15% performance increase in minimum framerates. These performance improvements are during some CPU-heavy scenes, meaning that owners of older CPUs will benefit from this performance patch.
Now while our minimum framerates saw a healthy 15% increase, our average framerates saw a very small boost. At 1080p, the performance increase is only 4%. As for 1440p, we’re looking at an 8% performance boost.
Now what’s really important to note here is that Square Enix has noticeably improved the game’s graphics. Below you can find some comparison screenshots between version 1.04 (left) and version 1.10 (right). As we can clearly see, the game’s latest version looks visually better in every way!
