Intel’s latest gen Celeron/Pentium CPUs now offer support for AVX2 and AVX-512 instruction sets

It appears that Intel’s entry-level processors now offer almost the same feature set as the high-end Core series. The new Tiger Lake-based Celeron and Pentium Gold Laptop processors feature support for the AVX2 as well as AVX512-VNNI instruction sets.

According to industry analyst firm TrendForce, coming via the Storage Newsletter, the memory market (including DRAM and NAND flash) is still in a state of oversupply till Q4 2020, and SSD prices could drop significantly soon by the end of this year.

Intel’s 12’th generation of Alder Lake-S Core processors are said to be the company’s first 10nm SuperFin-based mainstream desktop processors, and we have already seen documents, datasheets, and release notes for these CPUs which also appeared on Intel’s own developer website.
Security vulnerabilities found in AMD’s Radeon Software GPU driver and Ryzen Master Tool

Some security vulnerabilities were spotted recently in AMD’s software, notably in the Radeon Software Adrenalin GPU graphics driver, and the Ryzen Master utility/app which is used to overclock and tune AMD Ryzen processors.

Rockstar Games buys Crackdown 2 developer “Ruffian Games”, rebrands to form Rockstar Dundee

It appears that Crackdown 2 developer, Ruffian Games, has been acquired by Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games according to TheGamer, and has rebranded the studio as Rockstar Dundee.

Nvidia recently launched the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 Ampere lineup of GPUs, but the launch was plagued with stock availability issues since day one. NVIDIA has also delayed the GeForce RTX 3070 GPU launch by two weeks to October 29th.
