Hatred Is The First AO Rated Title to Be Sold via Steam, System Requirements Revealed

Some questions arose as to whether Steam would still carry Destructive Creation’s Hatred after the ESRB rated it AO, or Adults Only, it appears we may now have an answer. The game’s Steam page went up and even includes mention of its AO rating on the right hand side.

Swatting Suspect Arrested

Looks like US authorities are finally starting to take “swatting” a lot more seriously. For those who don’t know, swatting is when an individual makes up a fake crime, claims that crime is taking place right now in an attempt to get local police departments to respond with their SWAT squads.

EA Executive Thinks Their Games Are Still Too Hard

Electronic Arts CCO Richard Hilleman just recently made some comments at the D.IC.E. summit about how new games are often still too difficult for new players to grasp. This was in response to interview questions from comedian Pete Holmes, who said he preferred standardized control lay-outs across titles.

Starr Mazer Combines Shmups with Point and Click Adventure Games

It’s really rather simple but I’m not quite sure I’ve ever seen a game do it before regardless. Starr Mazer, currently undergoing a kickstarter campaign, combines shmup gameplay with the point and click adventure genre. It looks pretty good while doing so too.

Sony Online Entertainment Sold to Private Investment Firm

Columbus Nova, a private investment firm based in New York, has reportedly purchased Sony Online Entertainment, of Everquest fame, renaming the developer Daybreak Game Studio. SOE was recently most well known for H1Z1 as well as PlanetSide 2 and were also developing a sequel in their EverQuest franchise.
