Michael Fassbender – Prometheus, 300, Xmen: First Class – will produce and star in ‘Assassin’s Creed’ movie

Great news for Assassin’s Creed fans as Michael Fassbender, the man behind some major roles in 300, Xmen: First Class and Prometheus, will produce and star in a movie adaptation of Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed. As you already know, the game’s storyline follows Desmond who learns that he is a descendant of famous assassins after being kidnapped by the Knights Templar. Although we don’t know more details about it, we can expect to see Fassbender reprising both Desmond and his ancestor. And given how famous he is, we kind of expect to see Ezio as Desmond’s descendant. Weekly Top 10 PC Charts; UK PC Retail and Steam Digital Charts [July 1st – 7th]

Seems that nothing can top Diablo III and ArmA II as both titles managed to retain their places this week in UK’s PC Retail and Steam’s Digital charts. As usual, the UK PC Retail charts come with no real surprises, apart from the fact that EA’s latest MMORPG has managed to gain the second place in its first week of release. And as you’d expect, both Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and Spec Ops: The Line are not in this week’s Top10. StarFox: Shadows of Lylat – Total Conversion for Freespace 2 is officially cancelled

And that’s precisely why I don’t like following a lot of promising mods. You see, most of total conversions get cancelled at some point (and I’m seriously surprised that the Thief total conversion for Doom 3 is still under development). This happened with both the Jurassic Park mod for Crysis and Dani’s 3D models for Doom, and it’s happening again with StarFox: Shadows of Lylat, a total conversion for Freespace 2. Although it looked spectacular a few years ago, no real work has been done for ages for quite some time. Borderlands sold 6 million units, Borderlands 2 PC will be the best version

Gearbox’s CEO, Randy Pitchford, said during a developer’s session at Rezzed that the first Borderlands game has sold 6 million units – something remarkable for a new IP – and that the company will do their best to offer the best possible PC version. According to Pitchford, PC gamers expect better treatment within the game itself. That’s precisely why Gearbox revealed – a while back – Claptrap love letter and Pitchford reconfirmed that the PC version of Borderlands 2 will be the best available version of it.
