A rumor appeared this morning, stating that Doom 4 is “indefinitely postponed” due to RAGE’s disappointing launch. Everyone was shocked and a bit depressed with how the mighty have fallen. And here we go again. SEGA and Avalanche announced that the PC version of Renegade Ops is currently slated for an October 27th release. Now take that with a grain of salt as the game has been delayed again and again. What is even more frustrating is that the companies didn’t provide us with any ‘real’ explanation about these details. Trendy Entertainment and Reverb Publishing released a new update for their Tower Defense Action-RPG, Dungeon Defenders. This update will be auto-downloaded the next time you start the Steam client and will add a Gears-of-War-Style offset Chase Camera for ranged characters, as well as support for Mouse “Thumb” buttons 4 and 5. The game is designed exclusively for the PC and will support DX11, more larger environments, more dynamic gameplay and looks awesome for a free-to-play game. This update introduces some nice additions, lots of fixes, various weapon balances and a few tweaks to the game’s maps. I kind of miss all those arcade on-rail shooters. You know, Time Crisis, Crisis Zone, Aliens: Extermination and such. And although I seriously doubt that Mastiff’s upcoming on-rail shooter will be anything worth to write home about, I’m a bit excited about it. The company has just released a new trailer for it and it really looks like a perfect mix between BF3 and House of The Dead. Turtle Rock, the studio behind Left 4 Dead and CS: Source, was bought and then closed by Valve in 2008 and re-opened as a new studio in 2009. Since then, the studio is preparing their debut game that will be published by THQ and as we just found out, it will be powered by Crytek’s CryEngine 3.
