Well, we had high hopes for Activision’s conference call. There were hints that a release date would be announced but no, Blizzard didn’t announce anything that we didn’t already know. Instead the company re-affirmed that the beta is still on schedule for Q3 2011. The company didn’t provide any release date for both the beta and the final version, although they are hard at work and hope to release it this year. Blizzard has just announced a new edition for Starcraft II. StarCraft II: Starter Edition allows anyone to play the following Starcraft II content for free. Yeap, you read that right. What’s more interesting is that you can play MP matches for free with this Edition. Consider it an extended demo of Starcraft II if you will, but this is something huge and was really unexpected.
