If there’s one thing we hate, it is witnessing a game capped at 30fps. Some companies removed that cap via a patch, like Codies did for Overlord, while others simple didn’t give a damn about PC gamers’ opinions and suggestions. Obsidian announced the details of their upcoming patch for the PC version of Dungeon Siege III. The team is currently working to fix some of the issues that people have brought up for the retail release of the game. Although we don’t have any ETA, we do know that the first patch will slightly change the control functionality and will fix a startup crash and some graphical issues that AMD owners were experiencing when forcing AA on via the Catalyst Control Center. WRC – also known as WRC2010 – was one of the best blends between arcade and sim rally racing. Although it wasn’t as polished as Codies’ racers and featured really short and repetitive stages, it had a lot of potential. And we are thankful that Milestone decided to develop its sequel. Interwave Games revealed today more details about their upcoming FPS/RTS hybrid game. Nuclear Dawn is being developed by Interwave’s internal team and is slated for a September release on PC and Mac. Players will take the role of a soldier and will explore war-torn post-apocalyptic landscapes that are modelled on modern cities. EA Sports released a new video in which Aaron McHardy, Fifa 12’s Lead Gameplay Producer, explains and details the benefits of the new Player Impact Engine. According to McHardy, the previous collision system was very good but kind of limited. As a result of that, when two players were running into one another in Fifa 11 the development team had to choose one contact and collision animation, even if there were a lot of contacts. We’ve always wondered how Battlefield 3 would look to consoles. Well here is the answer. The console version was showcased during the ‘Late Night’ show with Jimmy Fallon. There are some LOD issues here and there but overall the game looks good and runs great. It’s obviously not as good as the PC version, but still.
