Awesome news for anime and Diablo fans as Blizzard’s upcoming Diablo III will get an animated short film. Diablo III: Wrath is directed by Peter Chung and will tell the breakdown of the angels players will be able to see inside the minds of the angels and understand how they do and don’t work together. Zapruder Pictures created an amazing short film that is based on Remedy’s Max Payne. Written and directed by Guillermo Fernández de Oliveira and Javier Esteban Loring, Max Payne: Valhalla is the best tribute to this classic third person shooter game. It has noir-style monologues, graphic novel panels, follows the events of the game so closely… hell, it even has a reload sequence. Now that’s just brilliant. So sit back and enjoy Max Payne fans. Torchlight II’s closed beta is underway and YouTube’s member ‘Fr0styNinja’ has decided to upload the first 5 minutes of it. In this video, you’ll see the character creation, the game’s intro and some in-game footage from the first level. Truth be told, the game seems similar to Diablo 3 (in graphics and its artistic style). But then again, Torchlight had always a ‘cartoon-ish’ style. Frogster announced today the successful launch of its long-anticipated MMO game TERA, developed by Bluehole Studio. Players have been invading the 10 servers set up for the launch since midday today (CEST). New players will begin their adventure in TERA by creating a highly customised character from seven races and eight classes. NeoAxis have released a new video that showcases the changes that have been made to their in-house game engine, the NeoAxis Engine. NeoAxis Engine 1.2 – that is currently available for download from here – supports HDR, Depth of Field and God Rays. NeoAxis Engine looks interesting, though it can’t compete with the likes of Unreal Engine 3 and CryEngine 3. Still, this is a great engine for indie devs and sports better and more colorful visuals than most multi-platform titles. Enjoy! Pat Goodwin – from Equilitree – directed a short non-commercial film for Half-Life 3. This video lasts around 2 minutes and has a narration about the Resistance and Gordon Freeman’s history. It’s pretty basic, but at the same time it’s easy to the eyes and kind of cool. It doesn’t have those funky special effects of all other fan-made Half-Life films but then again, that’s not a bad thing as its artistic direction is completely different. Enjoy!
