Modder ‘FCH823’ has shared a new HD Texture Pack for Batman: Arkham Asylum that upscales over 1800 textures. This pack mostly covers environmental textures so that the game can look a bit crisper.
Now the big difference between this mod and Asylum Reborn is that the latter focuses on the game’s characters. As said, this latest pack mostly focuses on the environments. So, you might be able to use both of them.
As FCH823 noted, most diffuse textures have been upscaled X2. Moreover, some of the lower-resolution textures have been upscaled X4. The mod also includes the UI textures from Asylum HD UI.
You can download this latest HD Texture Pack from this link. At the end of the article, you can also find some comparison screenshots. These screenshots will give you an idea of what you can expect from it.
As we can see, the new textures retain the art style of the original textures. I strongly suggest opening the screenshots in new tabs. That way, you’ll be able to more easily see the visual improvements. And yes, the modded textures look noticeably better than the vanilla ones. As such, we recommend using it if you plan to replay this old Batman game.
Speaking of AI-enhanced HD Texture Packs, we also suggest taking a look at these for some other games. In October 2023, STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl and Half-Life 2 got two cool AI-enhanced HD Texture Packs. Let’s also not forget these packs for Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3. You can also find packs for Far Cry 3, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Blood 2, Dark Souls 2, FEAR and Resident Evil 7.
Have fun and stay tuned for more!
