Batman and Doom fans, here is something for you. A few days ago, modder ‘ddadd’ released Batman Doom 1 Overhaul. Batman Doom 1 Overhaul greatly enhances the gameplay of the original Batman Doom while keeping the original levels and art style intact. So, let’s take a closer look at it.
For those unaware, Batman Doom is a total overhaul mod for Doom. This mod lets you become Batman, and fight a lot of Batman enemies. It also replaces the default weapons with those that Batman uses. So, think of it as a cool mashup of Batman and Doom.
Batman Doom 1 Overhaul comes with better melee graphics and mechanics, including regaining health upon successful strikes. It also makes Batarangs much faster.
All hitscan enemies have been replaced with bullet projectile enemies. This will make the game play and feel much better than before. Smoke bombs will now damage on impact but also act like actual smoke. There is also a new level and villain to map33, the Riddler’s hideout.
And that’s not all. The modder has replaced Batman’s super shotgun with batclaw. Batman’s gloves are now much more fun to use. You also now have an Alt-fire kick for every weapon. Then we have the Bat-machinegun weapon which will now also disable certain enemy weapons.
Finally, the new overhauled version of the mod removes some previous stealth mechanics due to game breaking issues. It also changes some boss mechanics to offer more of an exciting fight, especially with Tally Man.
In short, this is the best way to play Batman Doom in 2024. And, if you haven’t played, I highly recommend doing so. This was one of the best mods for Doom.
You can go ahead and download the mod from this link. Below you can also find a video that shows off the new level that the modder has added.
Have fun and stay tuned for more!
