Modder ‘fromsoftserve’, the man behind the amazing graphics mods for Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 3, has released a new visual overhaul mod for Demon’s Souls. As the title suggests, the Demon’s Souls Graphics Overhaul Mod adds dynamic shadows to the game.
What’s really cool here is that this visual overhaul mod is only for PC. This basically means that you need the Playstation 3 emulator, RPCS3, and a copy of the actual game.
This first version of this mod adds dynamic shadows to all outside areas in Demon’s Souls. To be more precise, here are the areas that have been overhauled.
- The Nexus
- Tutorial
- Boletaria 100% done
- Shrine of Storms Level 1
- Stonefang Tunnels Level 1
- Latria Level 1
Beyond that, in future versions, the modder would like to alter the lighting, the tonemapping, water reflections, and more.
In short, this is currently the best way to experience this first Souls game on PC. After all, Sony has not announced any plans to release its remake on PC… yet. The GeForce Now list included the remake so we might get an announcement later this year (or next year). After all, most of the Sony games that were included in it have already been released on PC. Okay okay, we still haven’t heard anything about Gran Turismo, Horizon Forbidden West and Ghost of Tsushima.
If I had to guess, I’d say that Horizon Forbidden West or Ghost of Tsushima are the next Sony-exclusive games coming to PC. And then, might get an announcement for Gran Turismo or Demon’s Souls.
You can download this graphics overhaul mod for Demon’s Souls from here. Below you can also find a video that showcases it in action.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
