Modder ‘Onno Jongbloed’ has released a new version of his RTX Remix Mod for ION Storm’s classic 2000 FPS, Deus Ex. Version 0.2.3 will improve the quality of the Path Tracing lighting, so it’s a must for everyone who wants to replay this classic FPS with this mod.
According to the modder, Deus Ex Echelon Renderer V0.2.3 fixes some lighting issues that affected its previous version. As such, the lighting should now be much closer to the original.
To prove that claim, Jongbloed shared the following comparison screenshot. And yes, you can clearly see how closer to the original game the path-traced version of Deus Ex now looks.
Those interested can go ahead and download this new version of Deus Ex RTX Remix from this link. Do note that this RTX Remix Mod does not improve the quality of assets. The renderer mainly implements Path Tracing, and nothing more. Despite that, it can greatly benefit this older title.
These past few months we’ve shared a lot of them. In January 2023, we shared several RTX Remix Mods that are in the works. As such, you can take a look at screenshots and videos for Tomb Raider 2, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Manhunt, and Garfield Kart RTX Remix. Last month, we also shared videos for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas RTX Remix, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Unreal, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 and Midnight Club 2. Earlier this month, we also shared the first screenshots from the RTX Remix Mod for Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines, as well as videos for Fallout: New Vegas RTX and Half-Life RTX.
Speaking of Path Tracing Mods for older titles, you might also want to check out the following ones. Modders have released early demos for their Path Tracing Mods for Tomb Raider, Max Payne and Call of Duty 4. Do note that the COD4 Mod is a “proof of concept” demo, and it does not look that great. On the other hand, the RTX Remix Mod for Max Payne looks amazing (at least in my opinion). Let’s also not forget the RTX Remix for COD: WoW. And then we have the RTX Remix Mods for the first and the second NFS: Underground games. Oh, and don’t forget to give a go at this RTX Remix for Unreal Tournament 2004. Finally, you can download Path Tracing Mods for Doom 2, Quake, and Serious Sam.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
