Modder ‘chainfailure’ has released a must-have mod for Elden Ring. This Elden Ring mod forces all light sources to cast dynamic shadows, and can transform some indoor environments, like caves and dungeons.
Although the modder has not shared any video, he did provide a comparison screenshot that you can find below. The vanilla screenshot is on the left, whereas the modded screenshot is on the right.
As you can clearly see, the torch can now cast dynamic shadows. And, in case you’re wondering, the game’s Ray Tracing Shadows could not address this issue. So no, you can’t have dynamic shadows from all light sources by simply enabling the game’s RT features.
What’s also interesting is that the modder was able to make this mod work with Dark Souls 3. Thus, you can experiment by dropping the file into the Dark Souls 3 folder. Just keep in mind that there might be some visual bugs and glitches with it.
You can download this Elden Ring Dynamic Shadows Mod from here. Do note that this mod only works with the latest Steam version, version 1.09.1. If, for some reason, you’re using an older version, you won’t be able to use it. We also suggest using it in offline mode, and not while playing online.
Speaking of Elden Ring, here are other cool free mods that you can download for it. This mod adds seamless co-op functionalities to the game, whereas this mod introduces a parry system similar to that of Metal Gear Rising Revengeance. There is also this mod that introduces an unofficial Survival Mode. Flawless Ultrawide is another must-have mod as it enables support for ultra-wide resolutions/monitors. Let’s also not forget the amazing first-person mod. Furthermore, you can download a 25GB HD Texture Pack that upscales over 4500 environmental textures. And lastly, we have the Convergence Mod and the DLSS 3 Mod.
Have fun!
