Final Fantasy 16 has just been released on PC and its first must-have mod is now available for download. This mod brings major improvements to the game. So, make sure to use it.
FFXVI Fix removes the 30FPS limit during cutscenes and photo mode. This means you can get smoother and higher frame rates in them. It also lets you use Frame Generation during cutscenes. As a result, the in-game cutscenes will run better and look much smoother.
Moreover, the mod allows you to adjust the game’s FOV. Final Fantasy XVI is a third-person game so you’d expect it to have an FOV slider. Sadly, though, it does not. So, thanks to this mod, you can change the FOV value to the one you like.
Another feature that FF16 lacks is support for ultra-wide monitors. And again. This mod adds full support for them. It will also remove pillarboxing/letterboxing in borderless/fullscreen, and fix HUD scaling with configurable HUD size.
You can go ahead and download the mod from this link. If you haven’t bought the game, you can use the mod to the PC demo as its also compatible with it.
Our PC Performance Analysis for Final Fantasy 16 will go live later this week. Until then, you can check out our Native 4K vs DLSS 3 vs FSR 3.0 benchmarks.
As I’ve reported, FFXVI is quite demanding at Native 4K. However, with DLSS 3 you can make the game run smoothly. I know that some hate this tech. And no, the devs should rely on it for getting higher framerates. So, until we see some performance improvements, you should use it.
Let’s also not forget that DLSS 3 does a better job at eliminating jaggies. Even DLSS 3 Quality Mode offers better AA than Native 4K. So, if you stick with Native 4K, you’ll get a worse image. Ironic, isn’t it?
Have fun!
