Team Hyperborea has released a trailer for its upcoming “Half-Life 3” Mod, called Half-Life 2: Infinite Finality. Half-Life 2: Infinite Finality will attempt to faithfully adapt the story of Marc Laidlaw’s Epistle Three. Not only that but it will also feature some brand new content.
This is the third Half-Life 2: Episode Three (or Half-Life 3) project that is currently in development. The other two are Boreal Alyph or Project Borealis. From what we know, these two projects are still alive. Both of them are in a serious development hell state, but they haven’t been canceled yet. So, at least that’s something.
It’s also worth noting that we’ve already gotten two smaller Half-Life 3 Mods. These are Half-life 2 Episode 3: The Return and Half-Life 2: Episode Three Minimalist. As said, these are really small and simpler mods. They are nowhere close to what the other HL3 mods attempt to achieve. So, be sure to keep your expectations in check.
Unfortunately, there is no ETA on when Half-Life 2: Infinite Finality will come out. Naturally, though, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
Speaking of Half-Life 2, there are some other awesome mods you can download for it. First, there’s a 6.8GB HD Texture Pack that makes the game’s graphics look much better. Then, there’s a mod called Entropy: Zero 2 that gives you a whole new story with seven chapters to play. And if you’re a fan of Opposing Force, there’s a fan-made sequel called Half-Life: Through The City, and you can check out a demo. Plus, there are two exciting mods in the works, Half-Life 2 Path Tracing and Half-Life 2 Remastered. So, lots of cool stuff to explore in the Half-Life 2 universe. Finally, let’s not forget Half Life 2 RTX Remix which NVIDIA revealed in August.
Enjoy the following trailer and kudos to our reader “durka durka” for bringing this to our attention!
