Modders ‘xowny’ and ‘Pastreaver’ have released two new mods for Grand Theft Auto 4. The first mod will increase the LOD distance for all pedestrians and vehicles. On the other hand, the second mod will improve the textures of all weapons.
Going into more details, the “2X Vehicles and Peds LOD Distance” Mod is a simple mod that increases the LOD distance for peds and vehicles by two times. As such, you’ll now have fewer pop-ins while exploring Liberty City. So, while this is a simple mod, it’s a must for those who want a more consistent image.
The Weapons HD Texture Pack uses AI tools in order to upscale the original textures. According to the modder, it brings a series of visual upgrades to the weapons in IV, TLAD, & TBoGT, providing more definition and detail compared to the original versions. Players can expect higher quality textures, as well as more detailed normal maps with more accurate shading.
Do note that the Weapons Pack will not improve any other textures. To further improve the game’s visuals, we suggest using other HD Texture Packs alongside it. In theory, it should be compatible with GTA IV Ultimately Beautiful Edition.
You can go ahead and download the mods from here and here.
Speaking of GTA 4, there are some awesome mods you’ve got to check out. First off, there’s one that restores the multiplayer mode – a must-have for sure. Then, there’s a cool mod that adds cars from 1950-1993 and a mod that brings New York City to the game. For a smoother experience, PC gamers can also use DXVK. You can also get these mods that add an 8K Map, and improve the Euphoria ragdolls. Let’s also not forget this mod that adds to the game a fully functional vehicle fuel system. Last but not least, there’s a mod that gives the main characters a total makeover.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
