Modder ‘BostonAirportNavmeshFix’ has released a pretty cool mod for Sekiro and Elden Ring that enables dynamic shadows from static lights. Therefore, both of these FromSoftware games will look more realistic than before.
According to its description, the mod introduces dynamic shadowcasting light to the different light sources. In other words, static lights can now cast shadows. This will bring a new level of realism and immersion to the game. Additionally, it will create a new breathtaking visual experience that enhances the atmospheric depth of the game. Or at least that’s what the modder claims.
From what I could see, only the main characters can have dynamic shadows. Various environmental objects do not seem to have dynamic shadows. So that’s kind of a bummer. Despite that, though, this mod can improve the visuals of these two games.
Back in July 2023, we shared a similar mod for Elden Ring. However, that mod had very few lights that could cast shadows. For instance, the Torch and the Site of Grace could cast shadows, but most of the environmental lights could not. In theory, this new mod allows even more static lights to cast shadows.
You can download the mods from here and here. At the end of the article, you can also find some screenshots. These screenshots will give you an idea of what you can expect from them. So, be sure to view them before downloading the mods.
Speaking of Elden Ring, there are some other awesome mods you can grab for it. One adds co-op support, while another brings a parry system like Metal Gear Rising Revengeance. Now if you don’t want to use the MGRR Mod, you can try this one that adds Sekiro-like deflection & dodge mechanics. You can also find an unofficial Survival Mode mod. Make also sure to check out Primeval Balance V3 for new character classes with cool moves. And don’t miss the fantastic first-person mod. If you want better graphics, there’s a huge 25GB HD Texture Pack for over 4500 textures. Plus, there’s a DLSS 3 Mod that improves performance.
Have fun and stay tuned for more!
