Modder ‘TenebrisVenit’ has released a new engine configuration file for STALKER 2 that will improve its graphics. This config is mainly for those owning a high-end GPU as it comes with a big performance hit. So, let’s see what’s in store for you.
This new Engine.ini file aims to improve the game’s shadows (global and local). It will also increase vegetation draw distance, lighting and reflections. Not only that but it enables GTAO.
Since this mod makes changes to the vegetation draw distance, it’s not compatible with the previous mod we’ve shared. In my opinion, this is a better mod, though it will also be heavier on the GPU than the previous one.
As said, this mod is only for owners of high-end GPUs. STALKER 2 was already a demanding game on PC at Max Settings. So, with this mod, you might be able to bring the NVIDIA RTX 4090 to its knees. So, perhaps this mod will be ideal for the upcoming NVIDIA RTX 5090.
You can download this new engine configuration file from this link. Below you can also find some comparisons. The modded version is on the left, whereas the vanilla version is on the right. These screenshots will give you a pretty good idea of the graphical improvements you can expect from it.
Speaking of STALKER 2, I also suggest taking a look at these other mods for it. For instance, this mod attempts to restore most of the online A-Life functionality. It’s not perfect, but it’s better than the vanilla version. This is a must until GSC GameWorld fixes A-Life 2.0. Let’s also not forget this mod that adds a Parkour-like climbing system to the game. This is another must-have mod for all STALKER 2 players.
And that’s not all. A couple of days ago, we shared a mod that allowed you to loot all mutants. This was a feature present in all previous STALKER games that was apparently cut from STALKER 2.
Finally, you can download a mod that will remove the inventory carry/weight limit. I’m not a fan of this last mod but hey, some of you may like it. Oh, and there is a mod that enables real-time dynamic flashlight shadows.
Stay tuned for more!
