Portal: Revolution, a brand new mod for Portal 2, is currently available for download on Steam. This mod adds to the game 40 new challenging test chambers, as well as a new story with original characters.
According to the modding team, Portal: Revolution packs over 8 hours of gameplay. And, since this is a free mod for Portal 2, we highly recommend downloading it.
The mod will make use of new test elements and existing mechanics in a new way not seen in Portal 2. So, players can expect a Resurrected “Pneumatic Diversity Vent” element, a new laser cube variant, and a Gel Cleansing Field. There will also be over 15 puzzles using only the blue Portal-Gun.
Portal: Revolution runs on an enhanced version of the Portal 2: Community Edition engine. This is a custom version of the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Source Engine branch. The team used this engine to add lots of cool stuff and make the game even better. They say the new experience they created wouldn’t be possible in the vanilla Portal 2. Oh, and just to be clear, there won’t be any Ray Tracing effects. So, it won’t look anything like Portal RTX.
Its modding team has also shared its PC requirements. From what we can see, Portal: Revolution will not require a high-end PC system. PC gamers will at least need an Intel i3-8300 with 8GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 (or a similar AMD GPU). The mod will also require 12GB of free disk space.
Speaking of Portal 2, I also suggest taking a look at this VR Mod for it. You can also get another mod for it, called Portal Reloaded.
Have fun!
