Modder ‘GeneralTantor’ has released a new version of the Remastered Mod for Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II. Among other things, Version 3.3 adds the HD textures we shared a while ago.
As we’ve reported, vurt’s HD Texture Pack added 720 new textures for the game, basically overhauling almost the entire game. And now, we can enjoy these HD textures in the Remastered Mod. This is great news for everyone who wants to replay this classic Star Wars FPS game.
Jedi Knight Remastered 3.3 also has a new HD 3D model for Kyle. Not only that but it introduces HD textures for switches. Oh, and it will also update OpenJKDF2 to version 0.9.1.
You can go ahead and download the mod from this link. Below you can also find some comparison screenshots that showcase some of the improved textures.
I should also note that there is a fan remake of Dark Forces 2 in Unreal Engine 4 that you can download. This isn’t complete yet, but it can give you an idea of what a modern-day remake of it could look like on Epic’s engine. So, make sure to download it and give it a try.
Speaking of AI-enhanced HD Texture Packs, we also suggest taking a look at these for some other games. Last month, STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl and Half-Life 2 got two cool AI-enhanced HD Texture Packs. Let’s also not forget these packs for Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3. You can also find packs for Far Cry 3, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Blood 2, Dark Souls 2, FEAR and Resident Evil 7.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
