The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Rebirth 6.8 Available for Download


Modder ‘trancemaster_1988’ has released Version 6.8 for the amazing The Elder Scrolls: III Morrowind Rebirth project. The modder has also listed all the tweaks, fixes, and changes featured in it. So, let’s take a look at them.

For those who don’t know, Morrowind Rebirth is a complete overhaul of Bethesda’s classic RPG. This mod adds countless new details, weapons, armors and much more for you to see and do. Basically, this is a must-have mod for those who want to replay this classic TES game.

Morrowind Rebirth 6.8 is filled to the brim with cool stuff. Players can expect numerous bug fixes, graphical improvements, new creatures, and much much more.

Going into more details, Morrowind Rebirth 6.8 packs dozens of UV fixes and improvements. It also brings new models for Spell Breaker, Staada, and Dremora Archer. There are also new ground models for a majority of robes, shirts, and pants.

As said, this new version also has a lot of bug fixes. I won’t list all of them here as it will make this article lengthy. Still, you can find all of them on its ModDB page or at the end of the article. The list is huge though, so make sure to keep that in mind.

This is an amazing mod for The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. Its first version came out in 2021. And, after four whole years, its creator is still working hard on it. So, more power to him.

Speaking of Morrowind, you might like these other mods for it. TES3MP 0.8.1 is a mod that adds support for multiplayer and VR. Then we have Tamriel Rebuilt which adds two new expansions and 200 quests. In November 2023, we also shared the first version of a World of Warcraft Mod. Oh, and there is also a 32GB 4K Texture Pack for it. There is also this mod that adds voices to all NPCs on the mainland.

Morrowind Fixes

* Fixed an issue where ‘Nalosi Alari’, a fully clad Ordinator wasn’t a member of the Temple. There’s no reason to why he wouldn’t be a member like all other NPCs of that class.
* Fixed an issue where there was a small black line found on the back of the Hunger’s skull. Also made some additional UV-improvments to the legs and tail.
* Fixed issues where a couple of non-quest NPCs were set as neutral, while all other npcs in the same area/cell weren’t. This was probably not intended.
* Fixed an issue inside Madas-Zebba Egg Mine where there was a large gap through which you could see the worldspace beyond.
* Fixed an issue where one of the boats at the docks near Fort Frostmoth is named “Rowboat”, which it clearly isn’t.
* Fixed issues where some books and scrolls used the wrong icon (closed instead of open and vice versa).
* Fixed an issue in Piran where it was possible to open a door behind a collapsed section.
* Fixed an issue where ‘expensive_skirt_04’ used the wrong ground model.
* Fixed issues where it was illegal to rest in some cells.

* Fixed an issue where the Daedric Battleaxe had parts which were missing a texture, showing up as white in-game. These should have been removed altogether.

* Fixed issues in Vandus Ancestral Tomb and Indaren Ancestral Tomb where there were gaps through which you could see the worldspace beyond.
* Fixed an issue where the prices for glass armor in Bols Indalens ‘Custom Armor Price List’ didn’t match what is said in dialogue.
* Fixed an issue in Dagoth Ur, Inner Facility, where a lava tile was clipping badly with an adjacent room, making it impassable.
* Fixed an issue where the texture for Sun’s Dawn (bar) lacked mip-maps, making it appear fussy when viewed from a distance.
* Fixed an issue where a door inside Othrelas Ancestral Tomb opened in the wrong direction, clipping with statics nearby.
* Fixed an issue where 6th house graffiti on the door to Piran made it overly difficult to activate the door and enter.
* Fixed an issue where the textbox for cave entrances would display their ‘ID’ name instead of their actual name.
* Fixed an issue where a door inside Fort Darius opened in the wrong direction, clipping with statics nearby.
* Fixed issues where two small wall-pieces were floating high above the floor in Vemynal, Hall of Torque.
* Fixed an issue where the entrance to Dralas Ancestral tomb clipped through a rock.
* Fixed an issue where two models in Bthusal overlapped causing noticable clipping.
* Fixed an issue where you could see into the worldspace beyond in Bthusal.
* Fixed many other smaller issues like misplaced items etc.

Morrowind Rebirth Changes

* Increased the alarm value of many NPCs, making them more likely to react to crime. These changes are somewhat undoing past changes, which made too many NPCs act indifferent to crime.
* Removed the somewhat funky looking skeletal parts from the Voriplasm. Additionally it’s now less transparent, and more ‘slimy’ looking.
* The key to the player home now has a unique model making it less likely to be sold/misplaced by mistake.
* Added a completely new text for the book ‘Blacksmithing Tools’, written by ‘logarifmik’.
* Kwama Workers outside blighted egg mines have been replaced by Blighted Kwama Workers.
* Changed the starting disposition of Dunmer House Telvanni-members from 50 to 30.
* Ashlanders are now unlikely to play a voice greeting near the player.
* Some trap effects are now somewhat more deadly.
* Added an additional docking area to Vivec.
* Added animal pens to Vivec, Arena (interior).
* Made a small overhaul of the Sanctus Shrine exterior.
* Made a small overhaul of the Wolverine Hall docks.
* Minor landscape tweaks here and there.

* Added new varieties of standard enemies meant as a challenge for high level characters. These will use the following prefixes:
