Modder ‘Cryptdick’ has just released a new DLC-sized expansion mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, called The Tempest Isle. This mod packs a fully scripted/voiced main storyline arc with multiple quests and interesting characters.
According to the modder, the mod was built to feel like a true Skyrim expansion. It’s also said to be highly immersive and lore-accurate. Moreover, it has hand-sculpted worldspace and various dungeons to explore and loot. Players can also expect to find new items, spells, enemy variants, environment objects, and more. So, this is pretty much a full free DLC. It will most likely be rough around the edges, but it’s cool nonetheless. At least in my opinion.
Anyway, since this mod adds new free content to the game, we highly recommend downloading it. At the end of the article, you can also find a trailer for it. So, be sure to also watch it. It may give you an idea of what you can expect from it.
Speaking of Skyrim, here are some other big fan expansions for it. Wyrmstooth is one of them, adding new quests and dungeons to the game. This other mod brings elements from The Witcher games into Skyrim. Dragon Hall Tavern is a huge 2GB mod that adds quests, new places, an arena, and more. Then there’s Land of Vominhem, Apotheosis and Legacy of the Dragonborn. Don’t forget to also check out this Castlevania-inspired mod. Oh, and here is another one that adds the cool Nemesis system from Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor to it. Lastly, we have this mod that adds six new islands to explore.
So, lots of free content for our Skyrim fans. If you think about it, it’s pretty crazy what the modding community has achieved. And, in a way, I’m curious to see whether or not The Witcher 3 will have the same longevity. Yesterday, CDPR announced a Playtest for the game’s REDkit Modding Tools. So, we might see exciting stuff in the future.
You might be also interested in these other mods for Skyrim. This Call of Duty Mod adds to the game 12 new fully functional weapons from it. Then we have this mod that adds to Skyrim over 7000 voiced lines via AI. There is also this mod that adds to the game The Witcher 3 Ciri/Geralt Voices. Another cool mod is this one that adds destructible objects to the game. You can also download this mod that makes NPCs smarter, enabling dynamic AI and allowing them to seek cover. Oh, and let’s also not forget this mod that adds unlimited dynamic light sources. Finally, these mods add Subsurface Scattering, Dynamic Cubemaps, Water Caustics and Parallax Mapping to the game. In theory, all of these mods should be compatible with the Dialogue Expansion Mod.
