Mega Man fans, here is something truly special for you today. Indie developer AlyssonDaPaz has released a new demo of his 16-bit demake for Mega Man X8. Created using Godot Engine 3.5, this free PC game re-imagines Mega Man X8 as a 16-bit SNES title. So, be sure to download it while you still can.
This latest demo has the intro stage plus all eight maverick stages. Each of these stages comes with their respective bosses, weapons and secrets.
I should also note some differences between this demake and the original version of Mega Man X8. For instance, X will only be playable in the demake. As such, you won’t be able to play as Zero, Axl and the navigators. You should also not expect medals, shop, retry chips or intermissions. Instead, the demake has a vanilla item hunt experience similar to X1~X3. Oh, and the Ultimate Armor will not be in it.
Now I don’t expect Nintendo or Capcom to issue any DMCA letter. After all, we’ve seen numerous free Mega Man fan games that are still available. Still, I suggest downloading while you still can because you never know. So, be sure to download the demake from this link.
I’ve also included below a full playthrough video. This video will give you an idea of what this 16-bit demake is all about. From what I can see, the demake offers around one hour of gameplay.
Speaking of demakes, we also suggest downloading the following ones. PC gamers can currently enjoy a demake of Bloodborne. There is also an amazing Portal Demake for N64 that you can download. Then we have this Quake 4 in Quake 1 Demake. Dead Space and Resident Evil 4 also have cool PSX Demakes, so be sure to also get them from here and here. And finally, you can download this Silent Hills P.T. Demake in GZDoom. All of them are cool, so be sure to get them.
Have fun!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
