NBA 2K25 feature-2

2K Games has added Denuvo to NBA 2K25 at launch

Well, we knew something was fishy. When 2K Games launched the Steam store page for NBA 2K25, it did not list the Denuvo anti-tamper tech. This was an attempt to completely mislead PC gamers as the company hadn’t even included Denuvo in its EULA. However, now that the game has been released, 2K Games added the Denuvo anti-tamper tech to the store page.

As I wrote in my previous article.

“Moreover, NBA 2K25 may not have Denuvo. That, or 2K Games simply did not include it in a way to mislead its PC customers.”

Yep. 2K Games has deliberately excluded Denuvo from the Steam store page. Of course, its inclusion should not come as a surprise. After all, NBA 2K24 used it. So, it was almost a given that NBA 2K25 would be also using it.

NBA 2K25 will also require a 2K sports account. This appears to be a mandatory requirement and not an optional one. So, make sure to also keep that in mind. Then again, if you’ve played NBA 2K24, you’ve already created a 2K account.

Earlier this month, 2K Games revealed that the PC version will have Ray Tracing. These RT effects will only be available in The City. 2K Games has not clarified whether these Ray Tracing effects will appear on consoles. We also don’t know how the devs will use RT. Will they simply enhance the game’s reflections? Or will they take advantage of RTGI?

Right now, the game has Mixed Reviews on Steam. For those wondering, the game is already available to those who have pre-ordered it. The rest will be able to play it on September 6th.

Finally, you can find its official PC requirements here. So, if you are interested in this basketball game, I suggest taking a look at them.

2K Games has not provided us with a PC review code. Since our audience is not that interested in this game, we may not cover it. Yes, the PC version is on par with the current-gen console version this year. However, the NBA 2K games never had a benchmark tool. So, it can be a bit tricky benchmarking it. Different camera angles can result in completely different results.

But anyway. If you show interest, we will cover it. If not, we’ll skip it.

Stay tuned for more!
